What is an Approved Private Service Home (APSH)?
Approved Private Service Homes were introduced in the 1960’s as an alternative to institutional living for persons with mental illnesses,
The purpose of an Approved Private Service Home is to provide a supportive family-living environment for individuals while creating and maintaining a welcoming environment and ensuring residents receive services tailored to meet their individual needs. Our approved homes provide a very unique setting that allow individuals to experience family life in a community setting with the opportunity to develop social, recreational and living skills according to their ability. Our homes offer help with life skills, ensure medications are taken as prescribed, and provide a strong, safe place for residents to live with dignity, with the assurance that their privacy will be respected.cognitive disabilities, and sometimes physical disabilities.
Our Approved Private Service Home providers bring experience, knowledge, and most importantly, ther sustained commitment to make homes for their residents in communities across Saskatchewan.
